Kidney March

Three days. 100 kilometres. From Kananaskis to Calgary.

The Kidney March is an event created by the Kidney Foundation of Canada. Volunteers, staff members, donors, and individuals living or impacted by the disease, from all walks of life and all across Canada came together to make a difference from September 6 – 8, 2019.

About Kidney Disease

Kidney disease is irreversible, and each year it kills thousands of Canadians. Kidney disease cases are predicted to double in the next ten years. Unless we stand up and take action, this silent disease will continue to take lives and livelihoods.Since its creation in 1964, the Kidney Foundation has helped millions of Canadians suffering from kidney failure and related disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, urinary tract infections and kidney stones. Through fundraising campaigns, the Kidney Foundation has contributed millions of dollars to research, organ donation and transplant programs, and services for those with chronic kidney disease.

How is RME involved?

Across the network, employees and customers from the RME family have been impacted by this disease. As a dependable partner, RME  supported the Kidney March this year as a lead sponsor on Day Two, and provided:

  • Quick pit stop for Marchers to pick up refreshments and snacks as they walk.
  • Food sponsor for lunch for the approx. 450 Marchers and Crew.

A Dependable Partner

Each Kidney March participant raised $2,200 for the fight against kidney disease. They met some of the most inspiring people on the planet and made a huge impact for the cause during the weekend event. Garrett Ganden, President and CEO of Rocky Mountain Equipment, stepped up personally to walk in the Kidney March along with other RME employees to form Team RME Kidney Krusaders.
