Each branch at Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME) plays a huge role in supporting the communities where they live and work.

This is accomplished through RME’s Community Investment program which invests $250,000 a year in programs that enrich our communities—whether that be in agricultural events, youth education and development, or safety initiatives.

Recently, RME contributed $5,000 towards a cause that would not only support the local fire department, but will also help keep the community  safe for years to come.

The Moosomin & District Fire Department has been fundraising for a new aerial platform fire truck to add to their current fleet. It would assist the 25 brave volunteers who rely on the vehicle to provide safety to residents in the rapidly expanding town and surrounding areas spanning 600 square miles.

“To date, personal and corporate donations have reached nearly half of

the purchase price. This is incredible in a town of 3,000 people and this was something we wanted to be a part of,” said Jason Miller, Branch Sales Manager at RME Moosomin.

While this fundraiser benefits the community as a whole, there is another reason towards RME Moosomin contributing.

“We employ people that volunteer their time and risk their well-being to serve on this department as well as other towns in the area. They should have the best equipment to do the job.”

The truck will have its grand revealing in early July during the Moosomin Rodeo at the annual Firemen’s Breakfast event.

“We have donated similar amounts to other community projects on several occasions. Rather than cut a cheque for local advertising , there is much more utility in contributing to capital projects, tools or equipment when we’re able to do so. We’re happy to be known as leaders in safety in the areas we operate,” said Miller.
