RME Customer Feature – Reese Agri Holdings Ltd. – Didsbury, AB
January 6, 2023 Agriculture Spotlight

Located in the heart of Mountain View County, Reese Agri Holdings Ltd. is a farm that has been a part of Alberta since 1945 when it relocated from Humboldt, Saskatchewan. Originally farming grain and Charolais cattle, the farm has since graduated to being just a grain operation this year.

Owner and operator Barry Reese has been running the farm full time since 2015. With his father urging him to pursue a career before taking over the family farm, Barry got his degree in Computer Science and worked in the city for roughly 20 years before making the move to stay rural.

“We have a total of 3,300 acres and we grow primarily barley and canola,” said Barry.

Owning three combines, a Quadtrac, and a sprayer, Barry has developed a keen interest in Case IH’s AFS Connect system.

“I like it because of the data tracking; seeding dates, yield mapping, all that stuff,” he said. “We also use AccuSync on our combines and it’s great for syncing the three of them up. It also gives status on the equipment, as well, so when an error code comes up on the other two combines, it gives me an idea of what happened.”

The Advanced Farming Systems (AFS) Connect allows farmers to remotely monitor and manage their fleet. Not only does it optimize performance, it allows farmers to visualize their agronomic data to help them with their day to day operations.

Upon purchasing his new Sprayer, Barry has since ensured it’ll be going into RME Balzac to have the AFS Connect program installed before he runs it in 2023.

The Reese family have been Rocking the Red since the 1940’s when Barry’s grandfather would run his International machines.

“My grandpa was the one who picked what we were going to use for machinery. We’ve been red for the entirety of the farm’s life and we’ll be red forever.”

Working closely with RME Ag Equipment Sales Consultant Rich Turville through RME Balzac, Barry said he’s never had a better salesman.

“He just gets it. His customer service skills are the best I’ve ever seen and he’s not just out for himself; he’s a great rep for RME.”

With Rich ensuring Barry’s operation stays running, a good chunk of RME Balzac’s Service department has been out when they receive the call to assist with getting his equipment back up and running.

RME is proud to have customers like Reese Agri Holdings that take such a strong interest in Case IH technology, like the AFS Connect. We’re also proud to have sales consultants like Rich Turville who ensure their customers are getting the support they need to keep their operation running smoothly. By doing , RME helps keep the farm technologically up to date and hitting high performances every season.
