RegisterThe journey began for then-high school student Ethan Brown in 2015, when looking to earn a few extra school credits and put some cash in his pocket, he found himself at RME Red Deer for the first time. Enrolled in the Registered Apprentice Program (RAP), Ethan began his journey at RME as a yard helper/shop hand and found a passion for the agricultural equipment industry.
Starting off part-time, Ethan worked on half-days, weekends, and all throughout his summer break. Once he graduated high school, he moved into a full-time roll in the shop to complete his Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) ticket, however, he didn’t stay in the shop for long.
“I was given the opportunity to move into Sales and this is a role I’ve always thought about doing, so I went for it and became an Ag Equipment Sales Consultant in December 2020,” said Ethan.
While Ethan has grown professionally within the agriculture industry, he said the part that makes it great are all the people he meets along the way.
Co-worker and Parts Shipper Receiver Sabrina Kondro said Ethan has proven to be a hard worker and a great team member for RME Red Deer
“He’s proven to be one of the hardest working employees. If someone needs a task completed – he’s your guy! He’s worked early morning to push snow and late nights to get work orders completed. He continues to prove his dedication to RME and our customers.”
When asked what he enjoys most about working at RME, Ethan said it’s all the opportunity and the different ways it presents itself within the company.
“It gives you the opportunity to learn – and this goes for equipment, people, and education. It’s the opportunity to meet and build relationships with people, it’s the opportunity to grow,” said Ethan. “I mean, what other company would have let me climb the ladder from the little high school kid, to an HET, and now a sales consultant?”
Looking ahead, Ethan has plans to continue selling New Holland farming equipment and growing within his field. By doing , Ethan is ensuring they are receiving the equipment fit for the job.
“On that cold December day, when I pulled into the parking lot for my first day at RME… if I would have told myself that in five years I would be where I am today, I would have thought I was crazy!”
