Register In partnership with Case IH and New Holland, Rocky Mountain Equipment’s Ultimate Rocky Experience contest is a success
Supporting producers has always been the number one priority at Rocky Mountain Equipment (RME), so it’s no surprise the company chose to celebrate its 10th anniversary with an eight month long Ultimate Rocky Experience contest, in the end rewarding two customers. The contest culminated in a draw held at the RME Balzac branch, where two lucky producers were awarded equipment packages worth over $300,000.
Jim Wood, Chief Sales and Operations Officer, RME, drew Chris Anders, Anders Farms, located in Penhold, Alberta and Kim Boehm of Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan as winners of the New Holland and Case IH package, respectively.
In partnership with Case IH and New Holland, RME is presenting two prize packages to the lucky winners. Included in the prizes were a Case IH or New Holland equipment package for one year, a Case IH or New Holland Skid Steer to keep, a platinum RME Ag Optimization Service (AOS) package to support their equipment package, a half-section of RME Geomatics LiDAR surveying to develop a water management and drainage plan, plus an all-expenses paid trip for two to Grand Island, Nebraska to experience the combine manufacturing process. The prize packages have a combined value of over $300,000 CA.
“At first, I wasn’t sure it was actually real,” says Boehm, who has a mixed farming operation, recalling receiving the call from RME. “I’m looking forward to the combine, sprayer and Quadtrac, but the trip to Nebraska will be very interesting as well. The whole package will certainly make 2018 more exciting with new equipment and services.”
Anders, who farms with his semi-retired father on a 2,300 acre grain farm, had a similar response to getting the winning call, “I was shocked. It probably still hasn’t sunk in and may not until the equipment starts arriving and I realize it’s actually happening,” he chuckles. “I feel very lucky – I mean, what are the odds?”
“I’m most looking forward to the New Holland sprayer. I don’t do my own spraying, but have always wanted to try. To be able to try for a year without any cost is a great opportunity to me,” explains Anders. “I’ve been toying with the idea of expanding and maybe this is a way for me to do it.”
The Ultimate Rocky Experience contest was an opportunity to reflect on RME’s first 10 years and continue moving forward supporting the agriculture industry and producers.
“For me, the 10 year anniversary brings back many memories of what’s happened over the last 10 years,” explains Garrett Ganden, President and Chief Executive Officer, RME. “From the point of bringing two small, family-run businesses together to merge and expand to where we are now with 34 locations – more than tripling our size. In the last 10 years, we’ve grown the RME family to 800 employees – a group I’m proud to say is incredibly dedicated and supportive of the agricultural way of life within all of the regions we operate.”
Jim Wood, Chief of Sales and Operations, RME, sees the contest as a way to connect with current and potential customers. “Whether the winner is a current customer or has never walked in our doors before, we’re looking forward to inviting them in and helping build a lasting relationship with us and our manufacturers as well as the equipment and services.”
Putting together the extensive prize package required the help of two of RME’s trusted manufactures – Case IH and New Holland. “We have fantastic customers and fantastic partners. I know when we originally pitched this idea to Case IH and New Holland, they immediately supported the proposal,” says Wood. Off-the-start, both partners eagerly worked to make the contest a success.
“That really is a demonstration of the business partnership we have now and the relationship we’ll have in the future as we continue to grow,” appreciates Wood.
“RME approached me about doing something special for their tenth anniversary and asked if we’d help out recognizing this important milestone in leadership and development,” says Marty Chamberland, Canadian Regional Director, Case IH. “We said ‘absolutely, we’d be happy to participate.’ They’ve seen fantastic growth over the last 10 years and we’re happy to be a part of celebrating that.”
New Holland representatives Andrew Marshall, Canadian Sales Director, and Deepak Balasundaram, Canadian Market Representation Manager, both echoed Ganden’s statements. “We’re thrilled,” says Marshall. “We’ve seen the company grow over the past 10 years and we’re proud to be a partner. We have a tremendous amount of opportunity with RME and they’ve been a great partner.”
“I was in the office when Jim first spoke about this contest and we took to it right away because we thought it was a great idea and a great program,” tells Balasndaram.
A large part of the contest is building a relationship with the two winners over the next year. Both RME and its partners are looking forward to seeing first-hand how the prize positively affects the two winners in the 2018 season.
“I think the contest brings to light all that RME has to offer,” explains Wood. “Many customers look at us as just selling farm equipment, but we’re a lot more than that. We want to support winners and help them build relationships with our staff and see all facets of our business.”
“The most important thing to the winners is congratulations,” says Ganden. “We’re so happy both of you won and that we were able to put this together.”
