RegisterWhen looking back on the early part of 2019, Rocky Mountain Equipment’s (RME) employees were busy supporting youth development within our network of 36 branches, provided them the additional support required to achieve academic success, experience sports, or teach others. RME is pleased to share a few of the Community Investment stories of youth who’ve stood-out for their contributions so far in 2019.
The Lethbridge Exhibition Park and Rotary Club of Lethbridge East announced a new $10,000 scholarship award program to recognize the importance of agriculture within the local community by supporting a top student in their pursuit of a career in the field. RME is pleased to be a Founding Partner of this scholarship which was first awarded during AgExpo in February, 2019 to recipient Lauren Machacek, a student at the University of Lethbridge working towards a bachelor’s degree in Finance with a focus in Agriculture Management.
Congratulations to Lauren on her well-deserved scholarship! RME sees tremendous value in continuing support for programs that empower youth to see a future in agriculture.
RME believes in being there for the next generation of Ag enthusiasts and encouraging them to stay active and engaged through extracurricular programs and sporting activities. That’s why it was an easy decision to support the Sasktel Tankard’s Junior Stars program in Whitewood, SK this past February. The Junior Stars are a hand-selected group of students living throughout Saskatchewan who have a common interest in curling. Each of the participants joined one of the 16 teams to learn from the events professional athletes by attending practice, experiencing two draws and supporting their team on the ice during the opening ceremonies of the Sasktel Tankard.
As a sponsor, RME awarded a specially-made jacket to each of the youth to remember their experience at the event.
