Serving as Vice President of New Holland Sales at RME, he brings years of farming experience to the table, providing expert support and guidance to customers and businesses alike.
Growing up on a family farm in Saskatchewan, Topola gained firsthand insight into the challenges and rewards of agriculture. Encouraged by his father to pursue an education beyond the farm, he earned a finance degree. However, after his father’s untimely passing, Topola stepped up to take over the family farm during a period that included several challenging drought years. Later, he expanded his horizons by working in local car dealerships, which eventually paved the way to a career in farm equipment sales. Despite his varied experience, farming has remained at the heart of Topola’s career, giving him a unique ability to connect with agricultural customers on a deeply personal level.
“Our connection to agriculture is our foundation—it’s what allows us to resonate so strongly with our customers,” says Topola. “I can relate to their challenges, their successes, and the ups and downs that come with farming. That shared experience strengthens the bond we have with them.”
Over the years, RME has grown significantly, but Topola emphasizes that the company’s focus on supporting its local branches has been central to its success. This localized approach ensures that customers receive exceptional service while benefiting from RME’s extensive network.
As Vice President, Topola manages the New Holland brand across sales and finance, fostering long-term relationships with the communities and businesses RME serves. “My role is to provide advice, support, and direction to our employees every day,” Topola explains. By working closely with RME’s locations, he ensures they have the resources needed for seamless day-to-day operations while maintaining RME’s strong partnership with the New Holland brand.
Despite his demanding role, Topola prioritizes time with his family—his wife, daughter, and two sons. His sons have recently launched their own careers in agriculture, a development that fills him with pride and optimism. “It’s exciting to see the next generation stepping into agriculture. Their involvement reminds me how important it is to attract young talent to this industry.”
